The new EAC version 4.2.3 is now available for Agile PLM e6.1.3 and e6.2.0 and implements new standards developed to cater to globally distributed company locations:
- Rigorous restrictions on authorizations of locations or business units in Agile PLM, similar to client separation.
- Display of stock list while hiding parts lists or formulations for product components that are critical to maintaining expertise.
- Simplified management of authorizations and groups.
EAC is an add-on module for Agile PLM e6 and complements e6’s own authorization concept. EAC can be implemented in existing Agile PLM environments and fully or gradually integrated. Application of PLM roles is an advantage but not essential.
The EAC module differs from alternative access concepts, which base users‘ authorization levels on their assignment to project structures and roles.
EAC can directly control PLM objects such as articles, documents, projects, folders etc. Authorization groups can be created and managed by the respective organizational unit in PLM itself, thus eliminating any conflict with existing Agile PLM applications of the product entity.
The EAC functions are also applied to CAD structures. Like the function for hiding parts lists, EAC provides solution approaches for CAD assemblies that need to be protected during CAD work within the CAD system or viewing mode.
